How do I set homework?
Open an activity, press Assign, pick a due date and share the link. Students type a first name and play, and you see each score.
Updated
Homework needs a free account, because it saves your students' scores for you. Students never need one. Results are kept until a year after the due date, or until you delete the homework.
Step by step
- Sign in with Google, then open the activity in the template you want students to play.
- Press Assign. Choose the due date and time, and the tries: One try, where the first score counts, or As many as they like, where the best score counts.
- Press Create link, then copy it, email it, or post it where your class finds its work, such as Google Classroom or Teams.
- Students open the link on any device, type their first name and press Start. When they reach the end of the game, their score is saved.
- See the scores in My activities → Homework, and download them as a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets.
What students see
The homework page shows its title, who set it and when it's due. With one try, a student who reopens the link sees that their score is in, and can play again for practice without changing it. With unlimited tries, each finish counts as a try and their best score is kept. After the due date, the link says the homework is closed.
Templates you can assign
Any template that gives each student a score at the end. Spin the wheel, Speaking cards and Flip tiles have no score, and Team board scores teams on one screen, so play those on the board instead.
Changing the activity later
Homework keeps a copy of the activity as it was when you assigned it, so editing the activity doesn't change homework students already have. To change it, delete the homework and assign the activity again.
Questions about homework
Do students need accounts or email addresses?
No. They open the link and type a first name. Their browser remembers it, so another try counts as the same student.
Two students typed the same name
You see two rows with the same name. Ask students to add the first letter of their last name.
Can I change the due date?
Not yet. Delete the homework and assign the activity again with the new date, then share the new link.
How long are results kept?
Until a year after the due date, or until you delete the homework or your account. Then they're deleted for good.
